The heart of Christ- ianity is transformation—a relationship with God that impacts not just our “spiritual lives”, but every aspect of living. Turning My Mourning into Dancing: Finding Hope in Hard Times by Henri Nouwen Group Leader: Mara Sitasz In times of suffering, simplistic answers ring empty and hollow. But Henri Nouwen, be- loved spiritual thinker and author, offers real comfort in the concrete truth of God’s constancy. By greeting life’s pains with something other than despair, we can find surprising joy in our suffering. He suggests that the way through suffering is not in denial, but rather in living fully in the midst of the trials life brings our way.

The Case For Christ Group Leader: Rick Rugel Lee Strobel, an award winning journalist for the Chicago Tribune with a Yale law background (and an avowed atheist) investigates the greatest story of all – the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In this book he retraces his nearly two year long investigation and spiritual journey – which lead him from atheism to faith. He presents compelling evidence and expert testimony for the claims of Christianity. Written within the style of a blockbuster investigative report, this book asks the tough questions people have questioned about Christianity down through the ages. Questions like … · Do we really possess reliable documents concerning the life, teachings and the resurrection of Jesus? · Is there archaeological substantiation for the historical accounts of Jesus? · Did Jesus really claim to be (the Son of) God? · Did Jesus really rise from the dead? Was his body raised or was it a non-physical resurrection?
4 Weeks: Oct. 22-Nov. 12 Thursdays 6:30-7:20 p.m. Book: The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. $15.00 No Class: Oct. 8
